LAPORTE, Ind. -- A substitute teacher has been charged with voyeurism for secretly videotaping women in a dressing room of a northern Indiana high school, officials said.
Samuel Potter, 40, of LaPorte, used duct tape to install a miniature video camera in the corner of one of the dressing room walls on Jan. 29, LaPorte police said. The lens peered through a tiny hole in the tape, giving a clear view of the entire room, police said.

Alas we have found the lone respondent to the X-10 popup ads.

This happened in upstate New York a few years ago. A kindergarten teacher rigged up a camera in the "cloak room". There was no law against video voyeurism at the time, but this case triggered a law in NY. He was charged with a minor offense and did a year's time in jail. He was fired, too.

Good question. He had concocted some warm weather outdoor activity, if I recall correctly, and the children were changing into bathing suits. (That was the first clue.)

They were using the coat room as a changing room for bathing suits--much different than merely changing coats and mittens. I didn't even know schools still had cloak rooms. My daughter has a hook and a cubby hole.
