The new display includes the Ten Commandments as one of many sources of Western law, an arrangement that courts have found permissible.

Moore has been vindicated to some degree. An affidavit in support of Moore argued this very fact.

Then why didn't he take this approach himself? Could it be he wanted martyrdom?

When you cut it, slice it and then put it under a microscope, the Ten Commandments are religious in context and were/are are moral guide.

Cohen's statements are foolish and he is trying to put a spin on a situation that he was going to lose. The Texas case was headed for a showdown.

Moore was being truthful, the affidavit in support of Moore was just the icing on the truth.

Moreover, it would have been a sight to behold having Cohen argue in from of the SCOTUS that displaying the Ten Commandments was unconstitutional.

All Justices could have asked, what about the display on this building, and it would have been all over.

A bettter question might be this:

When will non-Christians wake up to the fact that it is, and always has been, the Christian worldview and system of ethics that is the only guarantor of their freedom and prosperity?
