How does a moron like Hal Lindsey still have anything resembling a career, after his litany of hilariously failed predictions?

Also, Lindsey is a liar; the various supposed deathbed statements by Darwin about evolution are long-disproved fabrications by creationidiot nutballs.

The Grand Canyon is actually only several decades old. It is a giant stage built by Evil Knevil to jump with his rocket.

I'll tell you, some of these religious nutballs really drive me crazy, and do a great disservice to religion and faith as a whole.

Many of Hal's predictions were spot on.

The book, which claims the famous area can be no older than a few thousand years (contrary to the claims of traditional secular science, which contends the canyon is millions of years old), was unanimously approved by a panel of park and gift shop personnel, the Los Angeles Times reported.”

Wow ... approved by a panel of panel of gift shop personnel!! I guess that trumps a few thousand PhD's, Carbon and Neutronic dating, the fossil record, core samples, computer modelling and a wee bit of common sense.

I wouldn't say they are disproved, just not substantiated to the extent that Hal should have used it.

TruthOrFiction.com's conclusion is that when all is said and done, there is not enough good evidence that the story is true. We stop short of declaring it fiction, but regard it as not sufficiently proven. The report about Darwin's change of heart comes from one person, Lady Hope, an energetic Nineteenth Century Christian, while many members of Darwin's family denied it and there is nothing from Darwin's friends, colleagues, his own statements or writings to substantiate it.

I rate this worth of a 1/2 Hat production.

It was some 24 PHD's who wrote the book. The current evolution establishment is not debunking this on it's merits, they are simply trying to get it banned because it contradicts the established view.

I have no objection to this book, nor to Eric von Daniken's books about aliens doing it, but they belong on the fiction shelf.

River Fans are found off the mouths of rivers that have changed position in recorded history. We know it didn't involve floods in any of those cases, so there is no rerason to speculate that a flood was required in any case.

What is this if it is not blatant censorship? It is censorship from the earth is flat people. A person could be executed for claiming the earth is round at one time, and these guys are no better.

When Mt. St. Helen's erupted it formed a huge canyon down stream in one day, the canyon has sedimentry layers and looks like it took a billion years of evolution to create, when all it took was 24 hours.

It's not good when science deliberately closes off all competition from other possibilities. Look how long it took them to admit that there was a spontaneous eruption of different kinds of species in one period, just because it jives with the bible. Serious scientific claims made by scientist who entertain another possibility is just as valid as their "guess", and should not be relegated to the spiritual shelf.

"River Fans are found off the mouths of rivers that have changed position in recorded history. "

The article didn't bring this out well, and I haven't read the book in quesion. But I think the problem with river cones is that none of them are as big as they should be if the earth is millions of years old.

It does raise some interesting questions. Why did the Colorado carve such a huge canyon, but the Amazon and the Nile haven't?

I don't care much for Hal Lindsey and I totally reject the "Young Earth Theory" of creation. A 15-billion year old universe doesn't compromise my faith in God. However, the story did contain one great and very true line:
"Whenever evolutionists are stuck for an explanation, they always seem to think that adding a few million more years solves everything.)"

Also, Lindsey is a liar; the various supposed deathbed statements by Darwin about evolution are long-disproved fabrications by creationidiot nutballs.

and not even good fabrication by the Bibidolators

“God used Lady Hope, wife of the first admiral of the British Fleet,

Not even close

From http://www.thepeerage.com/p363.htm this is the guy - not even a full Admiral, much less Admiral of the Fleet.

Vice-Admiral Sir James Hope-Vere (M)
b. 3 March 1808, d. 9 June 1881, #18121
Pedigree
Vice-Admiral Sir James Hope-Vere was the son of Admiral Sir George Hope-Vere and Lady Jemima Hope-Johnstone. He was born on 3 March 1808. ... He married, secondly, Elizabeth Cotton, daughter of General Sir Arthur Thomas Cotton, on 6 December 1877. He died on 9 June 1881 at age 73.

Even the pretty darned wacky Young Earthers say it's nonsense Did Darwin recant?

I love this little Janet-Jackson

After the death of Admiral Hope in 1881, Lady Hope married T. A. Denny, a ‘pork philanthropist’, in 1893, but preferred to retain her former name and title

Sorry Mrs Denny, your preference don't count. The rules of courtesy titles are clear. A woman holding such title by reason of marriage can keep using the title after widowhood or divorce, until she remarries.

This is the female whose integity the Bibidolators are relying on?

A woman willing to use a title she's not entitled to is probably prepared to lie about other things.

"It's not good when science deliberately closes off all competition from other possibilities."

I agree 100%, these guys close their minds to possibilities and then think themselves scientific.

My guess is that few of them are aware that the rock formed from Mt. St. Helens was Potassium Argon dated to be millions of years old, despite the fact that scientists watched the rock form. And the same dating problem shows up in 18 other recent volcanic eruptions. And they wouldn't believe it if you told them.

Once rivers that flow over rock, like the Colorado, cut a groove, they naturally stay in it. Eventually they dig down towards sea level. How deep the canyon is depends on water flow, rock hardness and how old the river is.

Until man started to force themn to stay within their banks, rivers through soft soil moved around, creating and then cutting off horseshoe bends, thus the current course of the river is never more than a few hundred years old.
The mouths of the rivers also move around.
The Mississippi moved back and forth over a 100 mile stretch of coast, until we stopped it. In the last 300 years, the mouth has moved 50 miles South out past what was the coast.

They believe it or suspect it, but there is as much politics and back biting in science as there is in D.C. politics, there always has been.

They don't want to appear religious so they write off the bible which plainly states there was a spontaneous creation of several different species at differnt times, and that everything was created mature, already old. So they do contortions to avoid what is in front of their faces just because it's religous.

Many of Hal's predictions were spot on. He said back in the 70's that Islamic fundamentalists were one of the greatest threats to the US. He said the world's focus would be increasingly drawn to Jerusalem. Who can argue with that? Hal never claimed to be a prophet. He simply took the scriptures and said, in order for this to happen, I think x might happen. And while he hasn't been perfect, he has a pretty good track record.

He needed to read the scriptures to predict the obvious? I've been predicting the same thing for twenty years and I haven't studied the scriptures in close to 40 years. BTW, I predict that tomorrow there will be daylight followed by darkness.
