DESERTER LINES (Clark considering op-research into W's Guard service)

Apparently tired of being challenged on supporter Michael Moore's assertion that President Bush was a "deserter," Wesley Clark's campaign is considering hiring a private investigator to look into Bush's activities in Texas and Alabama during his National Guard service way back when.

At least one other campaign is said to be considering sending opposition researchers down south to look into Bush's record.

In the past, campaign staffers for both Clinton and Gore had tried to make hay of the rumors that Bush had somehow taken advantage of his family name during that period. Despite of months of effort, they failed to develop anything substantive.

"We have former Clinton staffers on board who say there's nothing to this," says a Kerry staffer, "but we know it's going to come up again and since nobody has a clear sense of the story right now we have to at least look into it."

Geez. The Rat tricksters for Clinton/Gore couldn't find anything to this story. Now Kerry's people will try to "uncover" the truth. Yeah right.

Clark was a fool for getting anywhere near Moore. Moore is a documented liar who will say anything to make his Marxist beliefs look correct in his own eyes.

To the campaign of wesley clark: Well, sure, concentrate on GWB while kerry is kicking your behind, why don't you? What the hell does it even matter since you don't stand a chance in hell to win the nomination at this point anyway? Today, a caller on a radio talk show said he had researched Clark and discovered that Clark was the commander of a post that gave Janet Reno help and training for dealing with Koresh and his followers. The caller didn't mention what rank Clark was at the time, so supposing his rise to his later position may or may not be related to that bit of interesting information. I am tempted to think it is.

The funniest part of the entire National Guard thing and "Bush using his family name" is that Gearge H.W.Bush was a newly elected (if elected at the time)Republican in a city and state that was controlled by Democrats.

I was there! You would think that in the late '60's GHWB was POTUS the way these people carry on.

As General, Wes Clark didn't follow orders and wasn't straightforward. Clark had a habit of talking out both sides of his mouth.

I heard an interesting profile on Clark by a radio station DJ in Los Angeles. The DJ thought he was building Clark up, but by the time I'd heard half of it, I realized Clark is our worst nightmare.

I don't remember it all, but this was enough for me. This guy should be kept as far as possible away from public office. I suspect he's going to fare far better than I would have guessed if he has the same clowns behind him that Clinton had behind him.

This is old news. Yes, Clark was the general at the base near the Koresh compound. The posse comitatus waiver was issued and Clark supplied tanks and military personnel to attack the compound. The rest is history.

Oh for heavens' sake .. THE NEW YORK TIMES DID A STORY ON BUSH'S MILITARY SERVICE AND TOTALLY DEBUNKED THE WHOLE THING. Bush took a leave to help with the election, and returned to complete his service obligation. Bush did not "desert" the military. Anybody who says he did IS A BIG FAT LIAR AND A TOTAL IDIOT WHO CANNOT EVEN READ THE NYT.

These people are so enraged with hatred for Bush they will try to smear him any way possible.
