I would really question their truly identifying themselves with authentic names. Just their USA alias.

True, however country of origin is easier to figure out, since there are regional differences in accent, vocabulary, etc.

I don't know if they had a Matricula Consular card or some other form of ID with their name on it or not. Good point though.
