If I were to die, why shouldn't my estate be able to put my organs up for auction?

The eternal organ donor shortage would end instantly with your proposal. Why not indeed?

The way to end the shortage is quite simple. Those in good health should be encourged to make a contract with a national organ donations system. The contract would state upon their death their organs can be used for transplant. The reason they would sign this contract is if in the future they need an organ they would go to the very top of the recepient list, per the contract. Thus, there is motivation for donors to sign up for the system. This would work.

To those of you out there that have given organs or those considering donation, as a living donor this is the closest you will get to God while you are alive. You are in a position to give the gift of life. It does not get any better than that.
