Cab Driver Suspected Of Plotting Bomb Attack Pleads Guilty To Making False Statements

A cab driver who asked how to make a bomb pleads guilty to making false statements to the FBI.
Sayed Abdul Malike admitted in Brooklyn Federal Court that he lied to federal agents back in May about trying to obtain explosives.
He said he only wanted the explosives to prospect for jade and rubies in Afghanistan, not for a terrorist attack.
Prosecutors, however, say Malike's story doesn't explain all of his actions.
They say last March, he asked a Queens store owner how to build a bomb, and tried to buy bulletproof vests, night vision goggles and Valium.
Later that month in Miami, they say he asked a tour boat captain about the infrastructure of bridges and how close boats could get to them.
Malike is scheduled to be sentenced this spring.
