A noticeably subdued group of California Democrats opened its annual convention Saturday, pledging to re-elect Sen. Barbara Boxer and defeat President Bush in November.

But the recall race that bounced Democratic Gov. Gray Davis in October in favor of Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger cast a long shadow across the convention hall. It left speakers struggling for a message to motivate activists after the party's most humiliating defeat in years.

My guess that the Granola State Rat Party is more concerned with finding their arse....you know, the the one that Arnold handed them in the recall election.

One sure sign of the abstinence of The Democrat Party in California, in the face of reality, is the choice of their speakers.

Grey Davis was actually invited to speak after battling the party loyalists for 3 years. What a hoot.

SInce he's an abortionist, I keep waiting for the stupid Democrats to make some tasteless joke about his "aborting the conservatives." THAT would be a nice noose into which he might slip his neck.

The Democrats in California live dangerously. They really have no idea how much times have changed. Heck, let em keep on hawking their tax and spend philosophy - it was a winner last October!
