Thank you, spirited, our NHS,though not perfect,is a good system.Too many here and too many Americans simply recoil in horror for no other reason than because it is a 'socialist' system.

I think each of our nations has strengths and weaknesses in our medical care systems and our individual experiences hand us singular conclusions.

There was a time when the USA could have justifiably said that we had "the best" but today we stay very ignorant of the strides other nations have made statistically to beat back even the bizarre and the composed diseases for which our system has no answer except often to deny the condition exists or is valid.

If one is talking cataracts, Starke at Hopkins is still the ace on this globe (as there are other aces in other like specialties) but in some varied health crises not everyone would prefer (focusing on the "first do no harm" concept) to submit himself to the "cut, burn or poison" crowd.

It is unfortunate that not everyone has access to the alternative solutions used in UK (even by the Royals) but we have been euchered out of some of those we had back before the corporate giants decided that they would limit our mode of care.

To each his own.
