Paltrow: I'll Never Leave Britain
Movie & TV News ^ | 01/16/2004 | Celebrity News

Posted on 01/16/2004 3:24:17 PM PST by BushisTheMan

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is ruling out the prospect of returning to America to raise her child - because she deems her homeland too dangerous. The Oscar winning beauty - who is pregnant with her husband Chris Martin 's baby - has been living in London since settling down with the Coldplay star, and she has no intention of bringing up their child in a threatening environment. She says, "I worry about brining up a child in America. At the moment there's a weird, over-patriotic atmosphere over there, like, 'We're number one and the rest of the world doesn't matter.' And the guns in school - it's not great."

Scotsman,
I don't purport to speak for Pukin Dog but I assume that it was not his intent to insult our brethren in the UK and other members of the Commonwealth. People will risk their lives and break the law to get here to see what this whole American dream thing is about. I don't think his comments were aimed at your countymen or yourself. Just my thoughts.

No such thing.

I disagree. If I cannot criticize my government without being labeled unpatriotic, then the ones doing the labeling could be considered over-patriotic.

No she won't. She's rich and can go to a private hospital.

I don't believe someone can be over patriotic. Someone can certainly become a nativist ignorant zealot which to me isn't patriotic. It makes Americans look ignorant.

Cate Blanchett was brilliant in "Elizabeth."

I'll say. I've probably seen it a dozen times (even though it's horribly inaccurate, historically speaking).

I've tried (twice) to make it through Paltrow's Shakespeare in Love, but it's just kind of silly.

Cate should have won.

Gwyneth: Overrated actress. Her luck was to be the pampered daughter of show biz types.

Dear Gwyneth--

Glad your dad is dead. I look forward to reading about the collapse of your marriage when your rock star husband finds someone sexier to screw, which shouldn't take him more than a week or so, considering your pancake breasts and total lack of shape anywhere else.

(Is the above a bit strong? Yeah, well, so what. You hate America, you get it back in spades, you vicious money-grubbing %^$&#$%^. Our cash is good enough for you, but then you spit in our faces? Burn in hell, Gwynnie.)

Of course Britain is safe. They have cameras hanging from every tree to track your every move, and they've outlawed guns./sarcasm.

Oh, she's always been at or near the top of my most-despised celeb list. (Obviously, heh.) To read this was the final straw.

I couldn't agree more. Elizabeth was a fascinating movie made by the performance of Cate Blanchette. Paltrow's Shakespeare in love was one of the worst movies I've ever seen as well as a truly horrible acting hack job by Ms. Paltrow. She looked like an anorexic teenager on heroin and there's no way she passed as a dude who could grow a mustache....give me a break.
