If there were, indeed, a correlation, the streets of america would be running red with blood, and our hospitals overlfowing with victims of sexual assault..
It is not happening..
As I said, the porn had nothing to do with this man's psychosis, it's the psychosis that had to do with the porn.
That is, he sought it out, and would have found other avenues to fill his "needs", if necessary. ( In fact, he did.. he fullfilled his sick fantasy by "acting it out". )
I would also guess that the material was "specific" to his mental abberration, having to do with sado-masochism, torture, bondage, snuff, and yes, cannibalism.
Well, that's your opinion.
If you go back to my post, you'll note that I called it a "feedback loop" between porn and psychosis. I do not suggest that his cannibalistic tendencies were caused by pornography, but I will suggest that his urges were definitely sharpened and encouraged by it.
If you've ever looked at pornography, you'll recognize that you're not a passive viewer of the stuff -- you have a sexual response to it. Furthermore, if you have ever actively sought out pornography, you know that it was probably because you were seeking a sexual response.
This fellow (and, apparently, the vast majority of sex offenders) would be no different -- he had a sexual response to pornography, and he sought out pornography to get a sexual response. Where he differs from you or me is in that his choice of sexual stimulus is profoundly disordered; and (because he's psychotic) he has no mechanism by which to govern his actions.
