Yeah but you can't blame a 3 year-old.

No, but you can sure blame people who insist on having those "peace-loving" dogs around.

We have 4 dogs and 4 cats, so it's not something against animals that I have. It's breeds that have been BRED to kill. People can yap on all they want, but pit bulls should be outlawed!

That poor baby. And the mama. She'll grieve for her child until the day she dies. And feel heavy guilt, because she didn't watch her child like she should have.

I know one thing, it wouldn't have taken me TWO HOURS to report my little one as missing. I had one of my own toddlers disappear one time. He'd gone behind the dryer to go to sleep (it was pulled out from the wall due to remodeling). I guarantee you I learned my lesson after that. I made sure I knew where my kids were at all times, even when they were in the HOUSE!

As far as I can see it -

a) where I live, 3 year olds wandering around unsupervised get HRS called. It could have easily have been a car as a dog. It sure wouldn't have taken me two hours to call 911. Heck most abducted kids are dead by then.

b)I don't blame a dog chained in it's own yard. But any owner of any large and potentially dangerous animal is stupid if they don't have access to that animal fairly well restricted. I have a German Shephard - have a 6 foot fence with a lock. And it only goes out when I am home, and keeping an eye and ear open. I don't need any bitten kids.

Anyone with a pit bull on a chain in their back yard for hours is begging for a lawsuit - and lets face it, 3 year olds, while slippery, wouldn't be able to get into a well protected yard.

In any case, the lawyers will smell blood with this one.

You CAN blame the stupid mother. This reminds me of the bimbo who let her kid wander into the neighbor's pool, then lobbied the city for a pool fence ordinance.

You don't leave 3 year olds unattended and unwatched for any significant period of time, unless they're asleep in bed.

Nor the parents. Every parent has a child get out of his sight, even leave the house, a time or 2. No one should have to pay with the childs life to a fricking dog for such a small mistake.
