Actually, that's pretty much my point.

Removing Islam and Muslims from all Israel, Gaza and the West Bank would not solve Israel's problem.

They would still have a border where they butted up against Moslems. Depending on where they chose to stop expansion, this might even be a longer border and therefore more difficult to defend.

Israelis essentially have three options, and in a more long-term sense we have the same three:

1. Kill all Arabs, or possibly all Muslims. This is possible, but not very practical and would not be allowed by the US and other nations.

2. Reach a true peace settlement with them. This is not within the Israelis ability to accomplish unilaterally, since it would require major change in Arab/Muslim attitudes.

3. Expect the present low-level conflict to continue indefinitely.

Of course, there are various modifications and combinations of these options. But the principle remains.

You can kill your enemies, make them into friends or continue the conflict.

Unfortunately, it takes two sides to make peace, only one to continue the war.
