It would appear he is doing his job well. Why would he let a bill come up that the President opposes or why would he vote for a bill the President will veto....

Well, if you're for Socialized Medications, CFR, and, assuming the trend continues, amnesty for 8 mil+ illegal aliens, he's doing his job.

I'm not for those things, but that's just my opinion.

Bump

"...he's doing his job."

He also doesn't want to take the chance that his wife, children, and dog would be Ft. Marcy Parked. The republicans who voted against the prescription drug bill were not intimidated by the threats from Bush, Rove, and the republican congressional "leadership".

Cantor is a member of that elite group. Being a brown nosing, yes man got him there.

Eric Cantor is a rising conservative star. And Jewish.

There are a few items where a NO vote would have sent a nice message. Cantor does want to replace Big Jawn Wahner in the Senate one of these days, ya know.

"Eric Cantor is a rising conservative star. And Jewish."

He's my Congressman and I like the guy personally; however, if he agrees with Dubyuh 100% of the time, he loses the ability to call himself a Conservative.

Sez you! Of course there are as many definitions of "conservative" as there are FReepers, at least. Cantor also has a 99 lifetime ACU rating. He's a conservative in my book, Bush-haters be damned.

You checked that poll? Either Cantor's sycophants are working damage control or Ukrops is sold out of Kool Aid.

Or Cantor's very popular in his district . . . seeing as he got about 70% last election.

"Bush-haters be damned."

I'm far from a Bush-hater, JZ, and I've met and talked to Cantor enuff to know he's much more conservative than his voting record would indicate. Fact is, Dubyuh's strayed from conservative ideology on numerous occasions and Cantor's support of said legislation indicates he has compromised his principles. Perhaps this is a product of having to toe the Party line when yer Deputy Whip, but it ain't conservative.
