"I would issue an executive order calling for statehood, and challenge the Congress to stop me," Mr. Sharpton said.

Why don't you start a street riot, Al? That's your customary tactic and just about as "constitutional".

But Mrs. Moseley Braun set herself apart from the others when she said she would sign a bill to end the District's gun ban and that she would oppose a commuter tax on residents of Maryland and Virginia who work in the District.

WTF!!

Sounds like he attended the same civics class as Mugabe.

Statehood for DC? That's the stupidest idea I've heard of in days...almost as stupid as the non-amnesty amnesty program.

First, it's unconstitutional. Second, we have to make states two at a time...how about Mexico along with DC?

He then plopped down into Mr. Dean's empty seat and mocked the candidate's angry-look and finger-wagging style.

Mr. Not-Ready-for-Prime-Time strikes again.

Mosley-Braun must feel she is so far off the radar at a D.C. debate that she can say something half-way sensible.

I don't undserstand why the other wimps won't put their names on a non-binding ballot that they can't expect to win. Can you?

This sounds awesome. I hope there is footage!

"Quality public education is the cornerstone of the American dream, she said, "and what vouchers do is siphon off money from the public school system."" - think this comes from Mosely-Brown.

Goes to show how stupid that woman is. Not the American Dream but the American Psychosis. Get rid of "Public Education" and there is hope. This is the evil from which all of the others spring.

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio, former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun of Illinois and Mr. Sharpton

Well, there are three people who proudly announced themselves clueless...but we knew that about them already.

I think a better thing for the country than statehood would be to drive all residents (and commuting "workers") in D.C. into the ocean. Who the hell needs parasites, anyway?

This just bespeaks wisdom and experience.
