A REAL picture of Saddam being dragged out of his spider hole. The source is a Special Forces soldier on the scene when the capture occurred. He was documenting the raid with a camera.
A picture is definitely worth a thousand words, so ...
Naturally, Saddam was willing to negotiate ...

Looks like a pic of a hunter with a deer he just nailed. I agree, he does look drugged.

He looks scared, maybe a little pissed. But drugged?
Maybe discovered and then DRUG from his hole.

Agreed. They're dragging him from his hole in the ground. Since it's a rather small opening it'd take some tugging. Camera caught Saddam blinking or just with eyes closed...I doubt he's drugged.

I've been told by friends in Iraq that Saddam, when the soldier told him that President Bush sent his regards, spat on the soldier. The SF soldier then decked him and that's how Saddam got the little cut above his left eye.

Doubt he had much light in that hole and was having trouble "adjusting" (to a lot of things)...
Otherwise, looks pretty much like any animal does in a spotlight. ;)

The camera's unblinking eye can catch us all with goofy or closed-eyed expressions on our faces. It's silly to assume from a photo that Saddam was all drugged up.
Actually, in other photos taken after his capture, he looks pretty healthy to me. His face was tired-looking and stress was reflected on it. But his color was good, and there were no signs of the wild expression and gaunt, starved look of a traumatized ratman living underground.
He was not "living" on his back in that hole, he was living in an above-ground structure. The hole was his refuge when danger was indicated. Clues of a fairly balanced diet were seen in the photos of his hideaway room. His aiders and abettors were obviously taking care of him as well as they could under the circumstances.

My son in law is on active duty with U.S. Army He says this is a fact and that the story appeared in a recent issue of the official army newspaper. The Army Times I think is the name but not sure about that.

Think his eyelids are too tight to be drugged. He's just anticipating having his head blown off if he moves.
