That's one of my favorite photos of the "Senator's son."

Staged photo. No soldier in the boonies would have a weapon with no magazine in it. Note it is not loaded. Further, take a look at the uniform. All clean, new. No one I knew had new stuff. We wore the same stuff till it was able to stand on its own with sweat and dirt. Then got a bath, fresh unies that were washed. Only REMF's got and kept new unies. His equipment looks new and unused. Staged photo. Where are his four MP body guards. Further, the scum bag was a mere private. He worked for the PAO and did not go to the field. This jackass was not even in Nam a full tour. Daddy got him out. He was there just to get his political future ticket punched, then Daddy got him sent home. He is as big a jackass as Nikiti Dean.

Big deal. Like he'd know a magazine if it bit his bong. When was the last time you looked down the barrel of a rifle in combat?

No magazine, give him a break.I have to agree on this one.... how does/did any of y'all adjust the front sling swivel? Clear the rifle, then adjust it.
I'm no Owlgore fan, by any means, but this one is a non-issue to me. Just because the mag is out doesn't mean he actually cleared the chamber, of course, but I've always thought this one was silly.

I said at the getty-up it was for old times sake. It still makes him look foolish.

Actually that is incorrect. You can adjust the front sling without having to empty the weapon and clear it.

bit him on his bong? He was using his M-16 as a bong, why do you think he was bent over like that? Shove some weed in the chamber and "Fire up"!
To: annyokie
Now, that I agree with. He is one of my favorite jackasses to hate.

Cut the c**p. Guy went to the Nam. He was in the service. He didn't ask for an easy tour, and if he got special treatment it was imposed on him by the higher level brass.
If anything his old man tried to keep him OUT of the military. Guy was an unreconstructed Southern seggie anyway, so why would he want his boy wasted by McNamara?
BTW, otherwise I can't stand Owlgore, but don't denigrate anyone's military service during that period lest it be pointed out to everyone that people who do that are anti-veteran, anti-American, and should be hustled quickly out of the country to a destination of their choice, or at least out the door of the aircraft over the ocean as soon as possible.
