Welllllllllllll, perhaps I could offer my services given my 3,000 hours of such group experiences, mostly as facilitator/staff . . .

Perhaps we could start with a trust walk . . . leading the newbie blindfolded and barefoot through our desert scape while wondering aloud if the rattlesnakes and scorpions were having a siesta or not.

Oh, but that could sooooo easily be construed as hateful . . . goodness . . . let me think . . .

Perhaps we could help him feel at home . . . we could give him a smorgasboard of sensory experiences--blinded, of course to--again--theoretically facilitate trust . . . tee hee . . .

We could rub some coarse sand paper across his brow and ask him how the rabbit fur felt.

We could tell him we were going to give his feet a hot soak and good massage and then plunge them into ice-water.

We could feed him cooked oatmeal with raisins and ask him how he liked the gruel and raisin soaked grubs.

etc.

When he protested, we could note that we were merely trying to help him to feel at home . . . given our experience of liberal sorts calling black, white; good, bad; harsh, gentle; treason, patriotism etc.

Perhaps we could give him a rest with wall to wall sound of Shrillery's pontificating fartair speehes. If he had any sanity left after that, we could turn him loose--amidst a group of lovely homosexuals and Islamist radicals who were fanatically intent on making him over in THEIR image.

. . . I mean . . . since he's so INTO diversity and all, perhaps he'd like diversity to return the favor?

I went to that once. But they weren't too happy when I put down "Instructor has nice rack" on the class critque.......go figure....doh !
