LONDON (AP)--British Airways has canceled its Saturday flight from London's Heathrow Airport to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, over security concerns, airline officials said.
It was the third time this week that the airline has canceled flights on security grounds; BA's afternoon flights to Washington's Dulles airport were canceled on Thursday and Friday.
In a statement Friday night, British Airways said Saturday's BA263 to Riyadh had been canceled along with the return flight from the Saudi Arabian city.
News reports said the airline had received news earlier in the day that gave grounds for security fears. No further details were immediately available.

a little more....
British Airways has cancelled tomorrows flight from Heathrow to Riyadh for security reasons, the airline said tonight.
Flight BA263 was due to leave Heathrow at 1.35pm, arriving in the Saudi capital at 10.55pm local time.
The airline said the return flight BA262, which was due to leave Riyadh on Sunday, has also been cancelled.
A Government team, led by the Department for Transport, is working closely with the Saudi authorities, the airline said.

What the heck is going on!! The planes are used on multiple flights. They have information that alQaeda has sleeper agent/employees at some point in the network.
To: rintense
You really think so? From the outside it looks kind of disjointed.
Any sources I have missed?

Have you seen that in a story/report? Or is that just a guess?

Well, I think with all the cancelled flights, warnings, etc., it will look disjointed until the entire plan can be revealed by our gov't.

Maybe they're concerned about something happening with the actual plane, on the return flight.
OTOH, I'm thinking that they're watching specific people, and are waiting to see who else gets flushed out by these cancellations.
My guess is that they've got their eyes on both flight and ground crews. The threat posed by flight crews is pretty obvious.
And ground crews are in a perfect position to do things to, or put things on, the actual planes so that incognito salamikazes can use it after they board.
For example, it would be easy for a salamikaze to buy a first class ticket, and order a special meal, which has been hand-packed with useful items by ground-crew confederates. Obviously, you'd have to tailor that plan to a specific flight....

Yes, from public sources.

Hmm...Wonder if intel showed that some conspirators in whatever scheme's been going on were due to return home on that flight?

Maybe....But the other ones were taking off from Heathrow (example flight 223).....must be a Saudi target.
They came back at the twin towers after failing the first time. They also failed at LAX and the White House. Those are my guesses.

I tend to agree...We may be close to shutting down an important cell. With all of this publicity, imagine how much must be going on that we don't know about.
