Some in Dean's Camp are Let Down, Most Defend Him
Blog for America ^ | 12/25/03 | Daphne, Dee, et. at

Can someone verify whether Dean said this crap about Jesus or if it's a troll hoax. Sorry guys, but there's this little thing called separation of church and state. I don't care if Dean worships a maple tree in his yard - it shouldn't be a part of political speeches or policy. I find it hard to believe anyway, since Dean's consistently avoided this type of stuff. Besides, not everyone is Christian, remember?

I hope it's not true. It would be a huge turnoff - enough to lose lots of support from committed Deansters. Posted by delphine -----------------------------------

I have to agree with Delphine. No, I'm not saying I would quit supporting Dean if this Jesus story is true, just that I agree it would be a huge turn off. --------------------------------- I'm with Phoebe. I am especially disappointed that Gov Dean said he won't talk about his deep belief in Jesus in New Hampshire because folks in New Hampshire don;t like that kind of talk but that he intends to talk about Jesus in the south. If Jesus is someone he feels compelled to talk about, he should do it everywhere.

This is not a representative sampling. Most are rallying. BUT it is causing some doubt in the true believers.

Joe Trippi is beginning to realize that foaming at the mouth only gets a candidate so far.

This is the problem with leftists. They honestly believe the First Amendment exists to curtail religion and religious freedom.

The Southerners that Dean's trying to pander to aren't going to buy his pious act (because that's what it is, an act), while his rabid supporters are going to fell like he's sold them out. Dean just stepped in it big time, though he doesn't realize that yet. What did he do, steal a page from John F***in' Kerry's guidebook on how to run a successful campaign?

Yeah, that's what I don't get...what was the plan behind his statement? It won't fool anyone who it seems intended to convert, and it can only disappoint some of his current followers. Strange choice.

Hey delphine (is this actually a person's name? It sounds more like a chemical) wait till Nov 2004 - drink the purple koolaid (Bush 525+ electorial college votes, Dean 6)

FYI delphine, Christianity is a BIG part of American life.

The hard-core Dems are watching Hillary support another candidate than Dean and they are wondering if they are on the wrong bandwagon.

Yeah, they are apparently too stupid to figure out that all this Jesus talk from Dean is just another slimey campaign gimmick.

Article 52 of the Constitution of the USSR (1977)

(excerpt) In the USSR, the church is separated from the state, and the school from the church.

Kerry's not a financial genius, either. Now in the high single digit range for months, Kerry borrows millions for his campaign, against his house.

Joe Trippi is beginning to realize that foaming at the mouth only gets a candidate so far.

He's right, but to make a move that's as transparently phony as this one is worse than continuing to throw bloody meat to the fringe. For Pete's sake, he's openly talking about how he's only going to use this line in the South! Can you imagine anything more condescending and insulting to the people you're trying to pander to? "I'm going to run this line about how I bang the Bible while I'm in your state, but not while I'm up north. You Southerners are just stupid to catch that inconsistency!" And then to top it off, he succeeds in hacking off his base.

Attention "delphine" (he/she may find this while looking for internet porn) -
Bush is going to win BIG.
HE WON LAST TIME TOO.
Now, please do the country a favor and return to your "medication" and Phish CD. The check from the U.S. taxpayer's will be in the mailbox next week. You don't have to worry about looking for a job.

Thanks for posting this - did you do a Google search for "left-wing dope-smoking a** clowns?"

You know what? You're exactly right!

It ought to turn into another "God, gays and confederate flag" remark to Southerners.

His wife can't donate money to his campaign, but there's probably no law against her tapping her fortune to repay the mortgage. This looks to me like an end run around the campaign finance laws.

Still, you're right - for all the good it's going to do Kerry's campaign, she may as well have piled the money up in front of Ketchup Manor and struck a match.

From the looks of things over on his blog. Many were initially upset but are hanging tough.
Good news for Republicans!
