I think this is a very important part of the process of hearts and minds, and something every average American can help with.

Everything should not be left up to the soldiers to do alone. We can all help out with this endeavor.

Thanks for the ping Tonk. (Most) Music has incredible power to soften any harshness that people might feel. This is a great idea.

A local soccer club in our area organized a donation program and sent thousands of dollars of sports equipment to a school in Iraq via a South Dakota National Guard unit. It is gestures like this that will change the hearts and minds of the next generation in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Pro Military, Pro Coalition News

For 15 years, Khurmal was a silent town. The Islamic Group of Kurdistan, an Islamist organization that controlled the town and others in northern Iraq near the Iran border, had forbidden people from playing or listening to music.

But thanks to a US Army soldier from Cape Cod and a US charity, musical instruments are on their way and music will soon sound through Khurmal once again.

Thanks for the ping Tonk!

There is nothing better for healing the soul than music. What a wonderful thing to do.

The Iraqi orchestra performed in Dallas last week - great reviews. Several hundred Iraqi refugees live in the area and literally begged for support before the war.

A great opportunity to build bridges through the beauty of music.
