Wasn't it great when Republicans used impeach a criminal president, instead of spending like drunken sailors, and racing with the Democrats to see who can expand the welfare state fastest?

I wonder how many of the new folks know how many FR folks were actively involved back then with the push for impeachment. It would be nice to see a master thread in Breaking News today that the old-timers could post comments and links to some of the more noteworthy impeachment threads - for the sake of FR history-telling.

I stopped lurking and signed up within days of seeing the FReepers on the Mall on C-SPAN.

Five years eh? So much has changed in my life since then. FreeRepublic remains consistent.

Those were the days. When the Pubbies were brave enough to impeach a President who had:

-Launched a military assault against American citizens.

-Collected the FBI files of the opposition party for personnal use.

-Assisted the transfer of technology to China to assure the accuracy of their ballistic nukes.

-Shook down foriegn nationals to finance his campaign with illegal contributions.


Yup, they were brave...brave enough to impeach him over a sloppy slut slobbin' on his knob in the Oval office.
