It wasn't actually disproved. We know that the father of at least one of Sally Hemmings' children was either Jefferson, his nephew or his brother (or is it cousin?). Historians have long believed it was the nephew. The history of this accusation and how it keeps being resurrected is fascinating. Of course, these days it's just about Clintonian resurrection and further attempts to denigrate any and all Founding Fathers.

TJ would have had to impregnate at Sally Hemings at age 65 for there to be any possibility at all, which even so, given the other relevant circumstances, makes it somewhat less likely than you or I being struck by lightning.
