"Do you have any idea why armed forces wear uniforms?
It ain't so they will look pretty in parades."
So the enemy will know to shoot at me?
ROTFLMAO...I think the enemy figured this one out a long time ago. Trouble is the enemy doesn't always wear uniforms.

So? And your point is?

Angela West has set up a legal fund for her husband with the following address: Allen West Defense Fund c/o Angela West, 6823 Coleman Drive, Ft. Hood, TX 76544.
This hero leads from the front.
The people against him do not.
I am sending a check.

Well, with all due respect.........I'm a former military officer, Academy grad, and have some training in interrogations..........and I absolutely believe he did the right thing.
To: jackbill
I am not debating that Lt. Col. West did anything I might
not have done under similar circumstances. My point is that he knew it was wrong when he did it.
I'm sure he would do it again to protect his troops.
Apparently someone in his unit thought so, someone ratted on him.

Puckett said the loss of pay amounts to $5,000 So a lieutenant colonel only makes 30K a year?
To: grizzfan
Is there a way you can share their address? I know we want to be careful with that; publicly posting a family's street address could be.......unwise. Maybe if you're contacted by FReepmail or something?
To: William Tell
"That is correct. And some of the most shameful atrocities committed by our side involved losing sight of the fact that not everyone who lived in the same village as these "civilians" deserved to be killed."
And the fact that Col. West didn't mass slaughter people but instead got the information out of this guy by force by what is arguably less brutal means isn't applaudable?
To: Nachum
He should have just shot the bastard and claimed the guy went for his gun. He would be promoted as a hero.
To: a4drvr
You were told at OCS or Academy that life-threatening imidation was an acceptable means of interrogation?

Yep I wil gladly pony up a couple of bucks to reimburse this truly great soldier and commander...
And I blow my nose on the ones who brought him up on charges...for having the guts to do what soldiers have always done...rather than sit back...and worry about how PC something appears to be or not worried for the sake of my career instead of primary concern ...for the welfare of my men...

Where in your training was it revealed to you that civilians under interrogation have absolutely no rights?
It's not taught in international law.
