I'm glad we can get along and focus on kicking the living crap out of the Rats in November 04.
House, White House, and 60+ in the Senate is my goal!
Freep them good!

What amuses me is that they are cannibalistic today. John Kerry immediately brings up the fact that "Howard Dean didn't even want Sadam to be captured by not voting in favor of military action." They really look pathetic.

I missed your post before, sorry.
I believe that many laws are unconstitutional. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are mostly 2nd Ammendment violations.
I don't think we should trade security for freedom for obvoius reasons. But the bottom line is in our country you get the laws that are supported by the people you voted for, and lately our SCOTUS haven't put much effort into following the constitution.
I really don't have much of an opinion on the Patriot Act itself mainly because I am unaware of what exactly it covers, and I'm not too worried about that because I haven't noticed a whole lot of opposition to it here on FR, an excellent barometer for conservative views, IMO.

Thanks for the reply. No problem with the wait. Sometimes life just in the way of freeping too.
I was curious about your reply because of your insistence on following the rule of law. I don't have a problem with that. That's as it should be, but I do find myself looking at what I consider to be exigent circumstances here and so we disagree. I respect West all the more for having reporting the incident himself. That alone tells me that he is a man of honor.
Now, if we can just get our government to obey the rule of law and the Constitution when it comes to our governance. I believe that we have about 20,000 gun laws that are unconstitutional and about 90% of the federal government is also extra-constitutional.
Stay safe.

I watched Breaker Morant this past weekend. A fitting movie for all on this thread to watch.
West did the right thing at the time, imho.
