Aegis system had that capability from beginning. Is one of the wonders of Navy technology. If you wonder, why China strongly opposes US selling this system to Taiwan, you have answer now. As Aegis II is being developed, and soon will be deployed it would be sick for any one trying to take on battle group.

You are correct. THE CLINTONS were responsible for preventing Aegis' adaptation.
