We did not positively identify Sen. Ted Kennedy and Rep. Patrick Kennedy in time to confront them, since they were surrounded by a group of their shills right before they slipped into their limos, quickly speeding off away from us.

We didn't get a chance to greet x-42 because he went in the back door as usual. But, everyone else who came in the front way near the circular driveway where we were standing couldn't help but be reminded that he was attending. We had on display under the street light the famous poster labeled "CRIME WAVE" -- a picture of Bill Clinton with his right arm upraised in a wave. The crowds at the tourist gate at the White House really liked that sign whenever we displayed it during the Clinton administration.
We were pleasantly surprised early on during our protest when a waiter from the hotel arrived on our corner with a small table, covered with a tablecloth, holding a coffee urn, cream, sugar, styrofoam cups, etc.-- all compliments of the Brady Bunch. One of the TRT fellows sent back a thank you note and several cold protesters drank some coffee.
We joked that BufordP waited 15-20 minutes before getting a cup of coffee -- checking to see if the others who drank it were OK! LOL!
We adorned the table with one of our signs: "Don't Drink The Clinton Kool-Aid." A couple of people stopped to ask about the sign and what we were doing.
As always, we were cheerful and informative and we received some positive honks and thumbs up. There were several off-hand waves (the kind that say "whatever") and some scowling dark looks from people in cars. Congressman Jim Moran walked by our group twice. He paused to read the "Clinton Loves Terrorists" and "Terrorists Love Gun Control" signs and shook his head disgustedly as he walked on. On his way out, he walked away as quickly as possible, but we recognized him anyway.
The DC Chapter members were there from 5 p.m. to just after 7 p.m. when we had confirmation that cowardly Bill Clinton had arrived and snuck in the back again. The TRT guys braved the cold and beginning sleet/snow to stay longer.
Hopefully, tgslTakoma will be able to post her photos sometime this evening.

"Was the hildebeeste present at the event being picketed?"
We did not see her arrive nor leave. However, we could not verify positively her presence, due to the tight security on the premises - designed to keep us away.

I love that sign, too. It looks good on you. Thanks for the bump.

"BufordP waited 15-20 minutes before getting a cup of coffee -- checking to see if the others who drank it were OK! LOL!" LOL!! You can never be too careful with Dem Leftists, but it wouldda probably been kinda suspicious if all the coffee drinkers started expiring.
Look forward to seeing Ms. Takoma's photos...please ping me once they're up.

x42 was definitely there. A special detachment of TRT members confirmed this when they went behind the hotel and found him sitting in a large Chevy Suburban, reading papers while smoking a cigar (no kidding!), shortly after he finished his speech (approx. 8:00 pm EST).
It was reported that a couple of Secret Service agents threatned to "take out the handcuffs" if the TRT came any closer to the ex-President sittin there. I am awaiting more confirmed details regarding what happened from those TRT members who were there before I post those here. I think at least one of the other TRT members may have an actual photo they can post here later.
Disclaimer: In NO way, shape or form, was former President Clinton threatened or abused by the TRT detachment that met him behind the hotel.

Thanks for the info, and kudos to all who picketed those leftist slime.
BTW, good job taking out that Nazi meisterschutzer back in Stalingrad ...

We knew Hillary wasn't in town -- she was in Texas at fundraisers and booksignings. The Austin Heart of Texas Chapter freeped her on Friday morning.

Thanks for bringing your great signs (Angelwood) and standing with the TRT for hours in that bone-chilling cold weather. Once again, those signs made the evening - attracting the greatest amount of scowls from the arriving anti-gun elites. :-)
Sorry you missed x42. He probably heard that the DC Chapter was there and we surmise that the Brady Bunch insisted he do a "back door" entrance rather than risk a clash with ya'll and the TRT. ;-)

No wonder x42 was out back, smoking a cigar, all by himself ... or was he truly alone? After all, that SUV did have tinted glass. ;-)

Looks like he has learned NOT to use the front door.
When he first came back to DC after leaving office at the Washington Hotel and used the front door, he has been greeted by a renegade band of people reminding him that we dislike him and his ilk. Of course, he left from the back door that day.
I am so proud of you Freepers in the DC area that have got our message across. Mr. Clinton, we will never forget.

A HEARTFELT
THANK YOU! TRT and FReepers, you have done well.
The "anti-gun for profit pimps" deserve no less.
The Brady Bill has been a total failure, except for making the Brady's rich. The whole anti-gun movement is about money. They all have their hand out to the uninformed and foolish. It's a scam. I wonder what the going rate is for Sarah Brady to come give a speech?
It is so nice to see the TRT alive and active in Washington DC. Keep up the good fight.

Elaborating on other points raised in the above FR article -
2004 presidential elections, a pro-gun grassroots activist's dilemma?
A brief NRA-related history of gun-control politics played out here in our Nation's Capital:
1980, 1984 NRA endorses Reagan for President. He wins landslide victories.
1988 NRA endorses George H.W. Bush, Sr., after he becomes a member and makes certain pro-gun promises. Bush wins.
1989 Bush bans importation of semi-auto (civilian model) AK-47s via Executive Order, enforced by the BATF, FBI, etc.
1992 NRA does not endorse Bush. He loses.
1993 Waco debacle. Brady Bill, endorsed by all living U.S. Presidents, passes Congress. Clinton signs into law.
1994 So-called Assault Weapons Ban (semi-auto ban) passes Congress, gets signed into law. NRA launches all out effort to defeat politicians who supported ban. NRA plays decisive role in the historical election of a pro-gun, Republican Congress.
1996 Clinton stages duck-huntin' photo-op; lies about support of 2nd Amendment. NRA does not endorse Dole, due to his history of compromise with the moderates. Clinton wins 60% of gunowner vote; is re-elected.
2000 Sen. Al Gore favors more sensible gun safety/control laws. Gov. Dubya Bush favors enforcing current laws. NRA mobilizes unprecedented, anti-Gore, grassroots efforts targeting key swing voter states with gun-owning union members (PA, OH, KY, AR, WV, TN, FL, etc.) and in support of pro-gun candidates. After secret meetings in Washington, Bush receives NRA endorsement about two weeks before election day. Bush wins 60% of gunowner vote, carrying critical swing states with lots of gun-owning union members.
2002 Congressman Bob Ehrlich, a co-sponsor of the 1995 House Bill to repeal the 1994 federal assault weapons ban, receives the NRA's endorsement for Governor and goes on to win a decisive victory in the historically liberal, anti-gun, Democrat-dominated state of Maryland.
2004 Presumptive Democrat presidential candidate, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, proud of all his NRA A ratings and endorsements, has the SAME issue positions on gun-control as President Bush. Both have said they will sign the renewal of the 1994 so-called Assault Weapons Ban. Both favor bans on affordable guns - the so-called "Saturday Night Specials".
Soooo, just who will all those gun-owning Reagan Democrats, independents, union members, etc., who decisively supported Clinton over Dole in 1996, and Bush over Gore in 2000, be voting for next November?

That is a trademark of Second Amendment Sisters. We sell t-shirts with that message on them. Both TGSL and Angelwood are SASTERS.
This sounds like a great event--sure wish I could have been there to see it.
