He actually did well ,then came home and joined vets against the war and trashed the war.His attitude after the war is what sticks in my head.

He is a hypocrite. He went to enhance his viabilty in politics, served well ,then came home and joined the revolution.

I never thought he had a snow ball's chance at being President. He is a cold, aloof Eastern elitist. He tries so hard to be hip here,or strong and commanding.I just see Lurch.

You are absolutely correct. This guy had political ambitions from the get-go. He saw the anti-war movement as his ticket to visibility and fame. Kerry had the best of both worlds--a decorated combat veteran and the espousement of what was an increasingly popular view about the war. Pretty heady stuff for a LT to be testifying before Congress and have extensive media coverage including his tossing his (read others) medals away.

Ironically, Kerry now trumpets his Vietnam service because it is politically expedient to do so. As a Vietnam vet myself, I find this guy despicable. His latest position(s) on the Iraq War fit the pattern of trying to have it both ways. He wants to be Panderer-in-Chief. God help us.

I know this isn't the proper medical terminology, but it's almost like he had a mental breakdown after his Vietnam experience. I guess he wouldn't be the first, but if that's the case, he's certainly not what I'd want serving as Commander in Chief.
