Bolivia holding nine Bangladeshis suspected of plot to attack U.S. target in Argentina

LA PAZ, Bolivia (AP) -- The Bolivian government said Friday it was questioning nine Bangladeshis after French police warned the group may have been planning to hijack an airplane for an attack on an American target in Argentina.

"We cannot confirm them," Interior Minister Alfonso Ferrufino said of the French police warnings.

Since there are three Mohammeds in the crowd, I'd say they the chances are slim to none that they aren't.

There was an article last week about some suspicious characters showing up in a South American country with passports from various countries. Suspicions were aroused because they couldn't speak the language of the countries whose passport they carried.

Oh well, probably just another example of how multi-diversity and bi-lingualism is the receipe for whirled peas.

Aw, come on! Such paranoia! Don't you know that Bolivia has been a tourism hotspot for Bangladeshis for years? I'm sure the travel sections of the Dhaka newspapers are full of travel advertisements for discounted fares to Bolivia. ;-)
