Shy Spy Valerie Plame Enjoying the Spotlight

Just a few short months ago Uraniumgate whistleblower Joseph Wilson was complaining that his wife's life was endangered by a gabby White House aide who outed her as a CIA employee to columnist Robert Novak.

But if shy spy Valerie Plame-Wilson is still troubled by her newfound celebrity, she's doing a good job of hiding it.

First there was talk of a movie deal from Mr. Wilson himself, who revealed to the Washington Post in August that the couple had discussed who would play her should a suitable screenplay materialize.

Then there was the book deal - real, not imagined, and inked in October for an undisclosed sum. "We made an offer, and he was happy with that," said Karen Auerbach, spokeswoman for Carroll & Graf Publishers.

Now the reclusive Mrs. Plame-Wilson is set to strut her stuff in Vanity Fair magazine, according to the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz:

"The January issue features a two-page photo of Wilson and the woman the magazine calls 'the most famous female spy in America.'" Kurtz revealed on Wednesday.

The magazine describes the shy spy as a "slim 40-year-old with white-blond hair and a big, bright smile." Camouflaged only slightly by sunglasses and a scarf, Mrs. Plame-Wilson is pictured sitting next to her husband as the aggrieved couple tools around in their Jaguar.

"The pictures should not be able to identify her, or are not supposed to," Wilson told the Post. "She's still not going to answer any questions and there will not be any pictures that compromise her."

No word yet on whether Larry Flynt has weighed in with an offer.

One might guess that the person who OUTTED Valerie was Valerie. Wonderful way to get movie/book contracts, isn't it?
