Uh, could u b a little more serious and b more specific, m I serious about what? I'm maintaining that 2 say art historians r a bunch of historians attempting to write social policy is silly. I have a colleague of mine who has been working on the same painter, the late medieval painter Bosch, for the last 10 years. He's so wrapped in his work he knows nothing of current events; and he doesn't care. Another member of the department works on nothing but Etruscan mirrors, back and forth to Italy. Clueless to what's going on. Maybe some art historians polemicize, but they r definately the minority. Who has time to read Derrida or whomever, Marx or anybody when u have to know your area of interest so well. Those who write by ideology r usually blown out of the water at conferences since they spend 2 much time on the ideology crap. I know this is true of the Renaissance people. One scholar spent 5 years alone researching all there was 2 know in Florence's records on the Medici. What good is Marx, Feminist bias or conservative crap on the Armagedon going 2 do for that? B specific!
