CDC says fight against HIV as urgent as it was 20 years ago

Atlanta-AP -- It hasn't gone away.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the fight against H-I-V in the U-S is every bit as urgent as it was 20 years ago.

Doctor Robert Janssen heads the agency's H-I-V/AIDS prevention program. He tells The Associated Press that there are more people living in the U-S with H-I-V than ever before -- and many thousands don't even know they have it. Janssen says a lack of testing is to blame -- but that testing is becoming easier and more accessible, with quicker results.

Janssen says prevention is the key -- because a vaccine is nowhere close to becoming reality.

Solution is very, very simple:

Teach your kids not to do drugs and not to engage in numerous sex acts with strangers.

Like Charlie Daniels said, AIDS stems from improper behavior, cancer comes mostly out of nowhere.

Need cancer cure before AIDS cure.

Exactly. Hence, the danger of non-monogamous and/or homosexual lifestyles.

Just as a note, Jehovah (in the Bible) gave 10 commandments to His people, and one of them was an injuction against adultery. If I remember my OT correctly, He promised His people that obedience to these commandments would give them life...

I don't think that human nature was any different then than it is now, and I think that many diseases that Israel avoided by sexual continence were ravaging the other "more diverse and progressive" cultures that were in the area...there was never a period in human history where disease was not spread by adultery, promiscuity, and homosexuality, in my opinion.

So the same religious obedience that sexually permissive people decry as repressive and judgemental COULD have saved the lives of many HIV sufferers....sad...

20 years and enough money to go to the moon a half dozen times and we are no closer to a vaccine than we were in 1980.

Perhaps they have the wrong pathogen.

Odd how that urgency hits every time a GOP president looks like he might win a second term. Hmm.

But wasn't it great knowing that the homeless problem was solved from 1992-2000?

Thanks for the ping - excellent links on the health hazards of the homosexual lifestyle. I'm updating the database with the articles that aren't redundant.

Lurkers and pro-homosexual freepers, please read the health hazards so very prevalent in the homosexual lifestyle. This affects you as well!

Health Hazards of the Homosexual Lifestyle
Allowing homosexuals to legally marry will not prevent AIDS, because AIDS targets homosexual behavior, monogamous or not.

seems the homosexuals are vacinating themselves with aids. Why should we do it for them?
