Nov. 19 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush said the credibility of the United Nations requires it to enforce its own resolutions and urged U.S. allies to be more effective in halting new terror threats and spreading democracy in the Middle East.

Bush joked about the protests in his speech. ``It was pointed out to me that the last noted American to visit London stayed in a glass box dangling over the Thames,''
``A few might have been happy to provide similar arrangements for me,'' the president said. ``I thank Her Majesty, the queen, for interceding.''
