Wonder if history will be so kind to him after the THG scandal gets some more traction. Bonds is a steroid-enhanced monster, and a world-class a-hole to boot.

Does his "doctor" get a duplicate of the trophy?

I liked Mark McGwire, but let's be honest, he was a steroid-enhanced monster as well. And a lot of people have their suspicions about Sammy Sosa, although he's a nice guy so it's only talked about quietly.

We'll see. Bonds' attorney has said that he's willing to take any test MLB wants to administer.

How many MVPs would Babe Ruth had won if they didn't have a rule back in the 20's that you could only win it once?

Nobody sees the things Pujols does, because he plays in flyover country. If he had hit .450 with 200 RBI, Bonds still would have won.
Sad commentary on a lazy group of sportswriters, and announcers.

A great accomplishment by a major league a hole.

We'll see. Bonds' attorney has said that he's willing to take any test MLB wants to administer. Sammy Sosa once said the same thing at a press conference. Then a sportswriter challenged him to take it that day - the lap setup was available. Sammy stormed off and ended the press conference then and there.
I have an ugly feeling steroid use in baseball is wildly out of control, and an awful lot of the top stars have something to hide.

It might be flyover country for some, but it's Baseball City, USA. (By the way, as a major airline hub, StL is technically not "flyover country." ;O)
I suspect they figure Pujols will get his. I sure hope so. Bonds is a great player, but I wouldn't feel any sadness over his retiring without a WS championship ring.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. You have the right to be wrong.)

A great accomplishment by a major league a hole. No I disagree; having watched Barry for seven years he is a decent fellow. I am not sure that if we had as many stories mis-written (I have never read a story in the paper about me that was 100% accurate) and to have many people wanting us and our time if we would not be a bit less open to reporters and the public. Now the steroid use is a different story; my wife commented early last season that Barry looked like he was not "hulked up" as before. So I am sorry to say I will disagree with both of your sentiments.

Barry weighs a little more than 210 pounds.
To: Sabertooth
Wasn't he an accused wife beater at one time?

There was random, unannounced steroid testing of all Major Leaguers this year, and 250 follow up tests. The positive results were about 7%. Not as bad as some had claimed, but it's too much. Also, they didn't have the tests for THG last year. Mandatory testing with penalties begins next year.

Well, I think hitting 340 is pretty good bulked up or not. I don't know. But as for the a-hole part, I don't know him personally, so it's just based on TV, but I have observed with my own eyes stuff that I never liked: the dangling earring, the stopping to admire the home runs, the giant piece of armor on his arm enabling him to crowd the plate, and his basically repellant personality in tv interviews.

Of course, you know that from your personal dealings with him. Right? I know you wouldn't go just on the word of sportswriters with grudges because he doesn't want to talk to them.
