If we were to have an 'industrial accident' and set off about 500lbs of TNT in some of these tunnels, I'd be in favor of taking a really long time to get around to investigating it.

I believe, tunnels are notorious for pooling of explosive vapors, rising from the earth, and then suddenly exploding.

Minefields. Lots and lots of minefields. Claymores, Bouncing Betties, and some nasty sh*t the boys under Virginia have been cooking up. Maybe even a few Burmese tiger-trap pits for fun, and a contaminated zone they'd have to cross that is salted with toxins, irritants, and nuclear waste.

Perfect. Pour nuclear waste down the illegal immigrant tunnels. Now there's a two-for one deal.

Pelosi: "When robbers come to rob your banks, have respect! They are only poor people, using their natural creativity and feistiness to put food on their tables! And remember, when someone tries to sell your little Susie some drugs, that little Susie's purchase may be feeding a whole, poor family somewhere. Ask her to buy a little extra if she can."

To aid in the investigation, the city of Calexico has furnished heavy machinery and equipment operators and they have begun excavating the tunnel.

Hmmmmm... the city of Mexicali probably supplied equipment and materials to originally build the tunnel,
they probably think that it's "fair" that Calexico pick-up the tab for dismantling it.

Authorities' suspicions were aroused Thursday night after a vehicle driven by an agent of the Border Patrol, now a part of CBP, plunged into a sinkhole while he was patrolling along the border fence. CBP officials returned to the scene early Friday to investigate and discovered what appeared to be a tunnel about 15 feet underground.

Such vigilance from our professionals. As if the trail emanating from the border without any sign of a crossing point hadn't given them a clue? I suppose our multibillion dollar satellite equipmint isn't capable of noticing the excavations.

Oh, and seeing as the German Wehrmacht was capable of placing microphones in the ground to listen for tunnelling under prison camps in 1943, such technology must be beyond us.

I think the tunnels must run directly into downtown Los Angeles, there must be a couple million illegal aliens there already. It's not a joke when you hear someone call this state Mexifornia.

In September, city crews digging trenches in Calexico, Calif., discovered a tunnel more than 4 feet high that zigzagged 250 yards beneath the border. It was equipped with lighting and ventilation, and was reinforced with wood.

Anyone know what equipment one would need to dig a tunnel like this and how long it would take? Just hauling out all the dirt would be a major project.

That would be fairly easy for Orkin to fumigate. If we did that just once, it would totally change the plans of those who dig tunnels.
