[history]
When darkness falls on Wednesday, artist Yoko Ono will appear on the Woodward Avenue lawn of the Detroit Institute of Arts to talk about her "Freight Train" exhibit.
It will be the artist/musician's first look at the Detroit installation of the work she created in 1999 as her response to the 1987 tragedy of Mexican migrant workers smuggled across the Texas border and locked in a boxcar to die.

When the valley girls came up with the term "bag yer face", i'm sure they were thinking of Yoko Ono.

The millions of dollars she has that she inherited from John Lennon could be used to provide food, clothing, medicine, or job opportunities to impoverished Mexicans so they would not have to flee their homeland to die trying to come to the United States -- instead we get this self-aggrandizing bullsh*t that does NOTHING to help people impoverished by their surroundings, nothing other than making Yoko feel good. Typical liberal.

Ono will be welcomed to Detroit, not as the celebrity widow of slain Beatle John Lennon, but as an internationally respected artist whose conceptual works are in demand across Europe, Asia and South America as well as in the United States.
Hey, I thought we didn't allow articles from The Onion anymore!
To: Skwidd
I thought she was going to atone for the fact she broke up the Beatles.

I thought she was going to atone for the fact she broke up the Beatles. That'll never happen. Don't you watch the 'Powerpuff Girls'?
And what is up with the 'squid sauce' thing? =)
