Italy Not Deterred by Deaths Iraq

Italian officials said Wednesday an attack on Italian military police headquarters in Nasiriya that killed at least 18 Italians and eight Iraqis earlier in the day would not deter their country's commitment to helping form a new Iraqi government.

Officials said 12 of the dead were Italian Carabinieri, or military police, four were other soldiers and two were Italian civilians filming a documentary on the Italian military in Iraq.

Now THIS is interesting...

On my drive home this evening, the local talk radio station had their "ABC News Break", in which the reporter said that Italy WAS having second thoughts regarding their commitment to the war effort, and they WERE considering recalling their troops.

My my my...bias is a funny thing...

Used to see the Caribinieri all the time at the PX at Tallil AFB outside An Nasiriyah. Sorry to hear about the losses.
