[history]
The chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence yesterday said his nonpartisan panel will continue operating, but in a weakened capacity because of a Democratic memo that surfaced last week outlining plans for a partisan attack against the White House.

Are we going to let this go away?
Are we going to "put some ice on it"?
Are we going to give up, and let business go on as usual?
Are we going to roll over for the traitors, once again?
Or are we going to FReep the Senate and demand that ROCKEFELLER MUST RESIGN!
To: Judith Anne
Who's kidding who? Of course the GOP will roll over one more time.

The demo-rats on this committee are so consumed with the thought of attacking President Bush, are they even vaguely aware that al Qaeda is chattering about an attack on DC and elsewhere? Sheesh!

Be interesting to see if the GOP anger over this merges into the anger at the filibuster..could turn out tobe the perfect storm that sinks the Dems...

I am sure they are aware, and I am sure they absolutely do not care. They think they will sit in their comfortable un-earned sinecures while ordinary American heroes fight and die to protect their bleepling bleeps. They will expect the Services to keep their homes and offices safe, while at the same time, they'll stab them in the back with politicized leaks designed to hurt the Commander-in-Chief!
They think that no one will hold them to account!
They are wrong.

WOW! The toll-free telephone number is worth a vanity of its own, is it not? Maybe we should first ask Jim Robinson.

Not to mention the opportunity it would give them to blame the President should another another attack occur. I can hear hillary now, "What did Bush know and when did he know it?" She scream this from the rooftops rather than sneak it in the back door with ANOTHER memo.

Ha! Don't hold your breath waiting for Sen. Roberts, who could star in "Mr. Milquetoast Goes to Washington", to be worried about anything except keeping his precious committee assignment, even after being openingly lampooned as a fool and a tool for the Dems in the memo. He is a typical mid-western Republican and about as perceptive and courageous as Mr. Magoo.
To: Quilla
Would you be surprised to learn that Rockefeller has been supplying secret intelligence from the committee to Hillary Clinton?
I wouldn't...

2004 is shaping up to be one H&ll of a year!
2004 will be the year that decides the future of the Middle East and the future of the Democratic Party in the USA. Success in one area will determine success in the other.
The stakes could not be higher. It is a very good thing we have a President who keeps a firm hand on the tiller. If Bush can stay the course, it could lead to a re-alignment of every assumption we have. If Bush fails, the failure will be total.
Interesting times, indeed.

Roberts, to me, seems a straight-shooter...not comfortable with partisan wrangling..some are, some aren't....possibly look for him to step down as the committee chair..letting the GOP put in someone willing to take it to the Dems...
