Michael graduated from Woodrow Wilson High school in 1980.. he then enrolled in Bucks county comunity college where he met Terri. Both Terri and michael dropped out of comunity college in 1982.
He grew up in Levittown, Pa., in suburban Philadelphia, the son of Bill and Clara Schiavo.

He took classes at St. Petersburg Community College in 1991, and began studying nursing.
