That was particularly terrifying, to lie there with folks deciding when would be convenient for their schedules for me to die. I was aware, and I could hear, and I began to strategize for how to prove that I was there....
This case is not just about one woman, which is bad enough, this is about what we will accept as a society. I am so thankful to all of you who continue to fight for Terri and this country.
I pray that we will all be safe from the infestation of evil and darkenss that has entered our daily fight, and battles to cause choas and confusion. I pray these forces don't win here, nor do they win "out there".
I just sent the following e-mail to Dan, with a cc to Neal Shapiro:
First, Dan, the name is pronounced 'she eye vo'.
Second, as to your closing questions ... "But you have to wonder, are her parents fighting so hard because they believe that she can recognize faces, etcetera, that she actually does understand, or is it that they just don't believe Schiavo about what Terri said; could a novel legal and constitutional fight have been precipitated by an old-fashioned feud between parents and a husband?" ... you generate your premises from a perhaps faulty assumption, that courts, because the judge and/or jury reviews a case, find honestly and accurately in an unbiased way upon the facts as presented. You certainly know that a poor judge can make findings that are flawed, that have been based on an arbitrary and very biased elimination of facts which another court or judge will find most relevant (such was the case with the first Greer ruling to execute Terri, for which another judge issued a stay in 2000). Occasionally, perhaps rarely, a series of court rulings flawed because of first-case biases, get issued in sequence, yet each ruling is flawed because of the original prejudices of the first judge or court.
Lastly, since Michael Schiavo has moved on with his life, siring two children with another woman, if Terri is in fact in a vegetative state never to regain consciousness, isn't it the humane thing to do to grant her care to her parents so that they may be with her in her declining years rather than be sequestered away by a man who has left her to pursue his life separate from her? Do the parents trust Michael Schiavo?... Would you trust someone who had been told by medical experts that his wife would benefit from a long-term rehabilitation program (and had seen incremental improvements in his wife's condition because of this therapy), yet upon receiving a $750,000 settlement for such a rehab program immediately forbids any further therapy for his wife, places a 'do not resuscitate' order on her medical chart, and refuses for her to even receive antibiotics for an infection?
Dan, you're young, but I know from watching you over nearly the past decade that you are not naive.

Husband in Right to Die Case Moves to Block Parents in New Trial
Terri's Parents To Go On Larry King
Bob & Mary Schindler will be appearing on the Larry King Live program this Friday night. The show airs at 9:00 PM EST.
The Schindlers were able to persuade Larry King to drop his demand that they give him an "Exclusive" interview, that would have prevented them from going on other similar shows.
It will be interesting to see how Larry treats them in comparison to how he handled Michael Schiavo last week.
New Guardian ad litem Appointed
The court has appointed a new guardian ad litem in Terri's case, a Mr. Wolfson. The Schindlers had opposed his appointment out of concern that he was carrying "baggage" that indicated he might be prejudiced in this case. Apparently Mr. Wolfson has made statements in opposition to "Terri's Law".
However, the Schindlers say that it is too soon to tell what he is going to do or recommend in her case. He has agreed to visit Terri accompanied by Mr. Schiavo, and another visit accompanied by the Schindlers.
You don't like the law, so CHANGE it!
That is JUST what the Floridians did! Thru their reps and govenor!
God Bless this find...may it carry the simple and oh so democratic message within, found in the words used by a Judge who has consistently ignored one side of this case, all the way into the literal BATTLE to make Terri's law PERMANENT!

But her charts, and Felos, and the crooked hospice, will probably overlook or lie about it. Michael's a nurse too, and would know just what to 'slip' her.
Let's not forget, at least a dozen people can testify that Terri CAN TALK! Her doctor at Bayfront Medical Center wrote this, and put a STAR NEXT TO IT on her records on page 2:
Vocalizing when prone in P.T. [physical therapy, she] Occasionally will say "STOP" to nursing during procedures.
Other care givers testify she can point to where she is hurting and say "PAI(n)". Or say small words like "Mommy", "Help me", etc.
