It's because the national media has portrayed her as in a coma, brain dead... Show people the videos and ask them again.

Hubby says he refused to trade. But who knows what is true.

http://terrisfight.org

But I read on another thread that people are believing MS when he said that it was "30 seconds of a 4 and a half hour video."

Starving is inhuman. If we want to kill her, inject her with some heroin so that at least she dies painlessly, instead of the agony of starvation.

Of course, no one talks about people who recover from comas, like that guy in Arkansas this summer after 15+ years in a coma.

well he's been demonized as much as Newt Gingrich, so you can't tell a thing by what he is saying now. Nor what the parents are saying. Give them each what they want and see how long this lasts.

The opinions of the ill-informed do not matter.

Unfortunately, they do. e.g., Bill Clinton was elected President twice, and his wretched wife is a Senator.

Yes, they do. Not only do the not ill-informed vote on internet polls..they vote in elections!

"Show people the videos and ask them again."
I've seen the video & my answer is still the same - remove the feeding tube. I've also read some of the medical reports that confirm she is in a persistent vegetative state, along with info on what that means.
I guess I'm just not informed properly.

A poll designed to produce the desired outcome... The poll question does not present the arguments of Terri Shiavo's case, it fully accepts her husband's position.

If a patient has been in what doctors call a "persistent vegetative" or a coma-like state with no higher brain activity for a significant amount of time, who do you think should make the decision whether the patient should be kept alive or not?

How Terri Shiavo's name was put into the title of this article or associated with this poll is beyond me.

Too true. Also, it is vital to know who is ill-informed so that minds can be changed. The only reason Terri is alive today is due to the energetic efforts of those who wanted her saved!

"guess I'm just not informed properly"

You can use the word "indoctrinated" instead of informed.

In question #1, yes. But in question #2, they do a better job (though not a perfect one.)

Terri Schiavo has been in a so-called “persistent vegetative state” since 1990. Her eyes sometimes open, but doctors say she has no consciousness. Terri’s husband says his wife would rather die than be kept alive artificially and wants her feeding tube removed. Terri’s parents believe she could still recover and want the feeding tube to remain. If you were Terri’s guardian, what would you do?
