Doesn't the military have bombs that suck the oxygen out of the air? Why not drop some of those?

Those bombs consume the oxygen by dumping fuel into the air and burning it.

There is such a thing as "fighting fire with fire"--i.e., making a small fire that you expect to be able to contain, in advance of a fire that you can't--in hopes that if the big wildfire reaches the area it will be starved for fuel and stopped. But it's not obvious that use of such a bomb is the safest way to accomplish that sort of "backfire," as I believe it's called.
