Thanks for these posts with the good views of the various paintings. The books I have read go into detail explaining the symbolism but provide poor or no good views of the paintings.

I now have to go back to the books, reread and then look at this site to get the artwork in my mind. This is especially true of the Last Supper.

You stated that Dan Brown's website was "not impressive". In my last 2 posts to you, i was trying to convey my enthusiasm for the research behind his book. i do find it impressive.

Besides the stuff mentioned on his website, there were other things in the book that were new and totally fascinating to me. I was not familiar with information regarding the Fibonacci sequence and the number "phi". "Phi" appears in the proportions of the human body, in what we consider "beautiful", in DNA, in plants, animals, art and architecture, music, the bible, and more. Don't worry. It's not "evil" at all. Very, very cool...and IMO, show's God's design. Check it out if you're interested.

Dan Brown is attempting to impress you with a handful of facile gestures that should be transparant to anyone with a college degree -- except that these days education being so "practical", folks are incapable of spotting these mortal frauds. Please do some more homework before falling for this hokum.

Don't worry, Romulus. DaVinci Code is just a fictional mystery story, built around factual research. Most who read the book are aware of that. IMO, the research was more interesting than the story. Some of the facts were new to me, while others only confirmed much of my own personal research on history and the church.

Fortunately tho, we're in the information age, and there is less tyranny than there was at the time of the early forming church.
