Hillary will giving the main speech at the Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner in Iowa, I think November 11th. I believe that this will be her platform to announce if she is ever going too this election cycle.

Let's see what the Iraq situation and the economy look like in 6-7 months. The economy is looking up, as judged by the Krugman Cat Index, but the Iraq situation is hurting Bush. If the economy upswing falters, I wouldn't be overly confident. I think Bush would win, but I fear it would be close, there are too many blindly irrational Clinton lovers. I do tend to agree, esp. with the importance of the economic upswing. In fact, I have a feeling that this is what's keeping Hitlery out of this race. I can't help but believe she'd throw her hat in the ring in a nanosecond if she really believed or knew that Bush was in serious trouble.

We agree completely. She realizes she has one chance only. She only jumps in if Bush is beatable (in which case I'd have my eye on Gore also). She'd get the Democratic nomination in a heartbeat. But if it looks like Bush will win in 2004, she'll aim for 2008, and that really scares me.
Ideally, she jumps in next year and Bush whoops her, and we don't have to worry about the Clintons anymore.

She will never resonate with the blue collar Dems. If she runs she is toast.

Getting rid of the clintoons would be almost as great a feat as getting rid of the terrorists. If he could do both, he'd be truly great, and much appreciated.

"Dem" is short for "Dementor", right?

I agree... in fact, if there's anything we can do to lure It out into the arena (such as trying to make sure Dean clobbers the rest of the field, and artificially driving Bush's poll numbers down), it would be worth it.
Alternatively, if Giuliani would run against It when Its Senate term is up...
There is some possibility that just the prospect of Dean getting the nomination - and (more significantly) running away with control of the Demonrat party - might be enough to lure the Beast out of its lair. The key to that is probably to dislodge Terry McAwful... if he goes, both Clingons are going to feel like the party is slipping from their clutches. If Dean gets the nod, he may very well try to get McAwful out, and one of his own goblins in...
