[history]
President Bush, who campaigned as an opponent of abortion, said Tuesday that Americans aren't ready to support a complete ban. Next week, he will sign into law the first federal restriction since the Supreme Court legalized abortion in 1973. The new law will outlaw a procedure that opponents have labeled "partial-birth abortion."

The thing that frosts me in these type articles is that there is a "PRO" choice side and an "ANTI" choice side. How about a "PRO" life side and an "ANTI" fetus side? It is another way the media portrays those of us who believe that "HUMAN LIFE" is sacred as ANTI something which is negative. Being PRO is positive.

What is deceptive about the headline? Bush is pandering by playing both sides. Just like Clinton and rest. When a president runs for reelection he becomes a whore. Don't worry, he will soon speak to a pro-life audience and wink and mug, implying that he really didn't mean it. Just as he did with global warming. Who ever believed that he was going to actually put his heart and soul into conservative issues? He knows they have nowhere else to go and will hold their noses and vote for him again.

"I don't think the culture has changed to the extent that the American people or the Congress would totally ban abortions," Bush said in answer to a question at a news conference. Maybe the ruling elite should bring these kinds of issues to We The People and let US decide?

You aren't paying a single bit of attention, are you?
Your post is absurd.
If you saw the President when he said this, you would KNOW that the headline was deceptive.
He is very much pro-life (publicly and privately), but knows that he can't wave a magic wand and make Roe v. Wade disappear. So does every other rational pro-Life American.
He knows the American people haven't been totally convinced of the evil of abortion yet, and he's chipping away at that problem.
Thank You, LORD, for a truly Pro-Life President!

The measure that Bush will sign does not include an exemption to protect the health of the woman. There we go again. Every article I read on the subject says this, without saying that the new law includes an exemption for when the mother's life is threatened.
