TOPICS: Front Page News; Government; Miscellaneous; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: bigmoney; corporations; democratmoney; donors; fec; tradeassociations; uniongiving; unions
Judging from the list of top donors to Politics the Democrats are on the receiving end the overwhelming abundance of the largesse of the Unions.
Judging from this list, Philip Morris is the only "big bad corporation" - and they are probably giving to the Democrats too.
Campaign Finance Reform---Yeah...

OK - So these ar ethe largest donors.
But who are they gving what amounts to?
ENRON, for example, paid almost as much to Clinton as it did to Bush, (though the media deliberately ignores that fact!) while receiving many trips, State and Commerce Dept favors, and direct White House intervention in its overseas power scams.
Once Bush cut off the purchased White House influence, ENRON was revealed as the pyramid scam it always had been.)
Assume Morris "spends millions" on its' own interests with advertising and DC racketeers and influence peddlers and in direct advertising, and gives a few million to the repub's in certain states.
Isn't that very, very different than the NEA giving ALL it's money directly to influence specific democrat candidates on specific campaigns?

I would say that Phillip Morris splits the money evenly.

Yes, Philip Morris and the AMA give more to the Republicans as do the realtors but by a little.
The point is that the unions and lawyers are all in bed with the demorats and are giving up big chunks of money to them.

Most of the corporations under indictment were big donors ot the clintonistas.

Yep, it looks like the realtors are the only predictably GOP-leaning group. At the 2002 NAR Convention in New Orleans last November, the keynote speaker was General "Stormin' Norman" Norman Schwarzkopf! He rocked! He also said some pretty wonderful things about President Bush.

Where would Philip Morris be if it didn't contribute to either party?
