SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Thousands of anti-war protesters from around the state took to the sun-drenched streets of San Francisco on Saturday, opposing the U.S. occupation of Iraq and urging President Bush to bring the troops home.

Some protesters took a midnight bus from Burbank to make it to San Francisco in time for the morning gathering. Bill Nelson, 30, made that trip with his mother, Anna May Nelson, 67.

Kudos and a God Bless to the God'fearing FRs and just regular folks in the South Bay who were at the Support the Troops Rally on Winchester. Thanks :-)

Hold on. Let me get this straight. Are these the same people whose rights of dissent are supposedly being stifled?

urging President Bush to bring the troops home.

Have these yahoos asked the troops how they feel about this? The ones I know feel they have a purpose and a job to finish over there.

...urging President Bush to bring the troops home.

Two questions -

When have these goobers EVER been concerned about the troops?

Are they as ate-up about the current occupation of Kosovo?

I guarantee you that, when the troops do return, you won't see many of these people on the docks, welcoming them home. If anything, they will run down there, shouting "babykillers!".

Some protesters took a midnight bus from Burbank...
...waved large signs, some of which read "How Many Lives Per Gallon?"

Idiots bump...

These are some pretty sad displays of what we are up against and how easily the minds of some of the american people are so swayed & filled with crap and propaganda.

I detest those who lead others astray by using them for their own ends and purposes.

Please...They're not interested in how the troops feel, this is about them and only them. They are so wrapped up in themselves, that they can't see what's really in front of them.

Clinton committed U.S. troops to Bosnia:

Bosnia, Haiti, Germany, Korea, I would love to see our troops brought home from these places and more. They should never have been sent to the first 2 anyway, imo.

You got the weekend off, eh? Nice outside. :-)

At least the reporter did not try to say Joe and Jane Average-Citizen joined other "concerned" Americans to protest. The "anti-war" organizers were mentioned. Few "reporters" do and never on ABC radio "news" on the hour.

"We're seeing Vietnam happen all over again. Wounds are being ripped open."

Yes, the press in general is ripping open old wounds and we're seeing Vietnam-era reporting all over again. This generation of American "journalists" will be hard-pressed though to win our enemy's equivalent of the coveted, Gen. Giap Most Important Guerilla Award. I think Gen. Giap's award still sits in the most honored place in the Society for Professional "Journalists" offices.

It's really going to be hard for our press to win awards from our enemies this time. We've got a free press this time. And this war is for all the marbles.

The troops coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan may not be as peacfully tolerant of these turds as their Dads were returning from Nam.

Wouldn't surprise me if as a result meeting engagements between returning vets and the anti-war crowd if the anti-war crowd didn't have a significant increase in out of pocket oral surgery expenses.
