Ed Asner, the ultra-socialist actor, was recently asked if he had the chance to play the biographical story of a person from history whom he respected the most in his lifetime, who would it be? His answer:
"I think Joe Stalin was a guy that was hugely misunderstood," said Asner. "And to this day, I don't think I have ever seen an adequate job done of telling the story of Joe Stalin, so I guess my answer would have to be Joe Stalin."
If my mother had heard Asner make that utterly despicable statement about "Joe Stalin was misunderstood", she would have marched up to that fat Commie lover and spit in his smug ugly face! My mother grew up in the Ukraine during the 1930's while lovable "Uncle Joe" was deliberately starving 7 million Ukrainians to death not to mention killing 10s of millions of other Soviet citizens. My mother saw 8 members of her family die from his genocidal plan to exterminate the Ukrainians because of their refusal to bend to his will. I would love to ask Asner, a Jew whose real name is Yitzak Edward Asner, whether he would have been happy living under Stalin's boot. Stalin was an avowed and rabid anti-semite so I somehow think that Asner wouldn't have survived Stalin's recurring pogroms to be the fanatical and hate-spewing uber-liberal that he is today. I somehow believe that Comrade Asner totally understands that but chooses to ignore that fact in order to propagate his pinko propaganda. Anyone who spouts that Fidel Castro is one of the world's greatest leaders has no common sense. He and his other Commie sympathizer pals like Whoopie Goldberg, Danny Glover, Harry Belafonte, Chevy Chase, etc., should have to live in Cuba and/or North Korea for a year or so and live as ordinary people under the rule of their idols Castro and Kim Jong-Il. Somehow, I believe that they would be whistling a different tune real quick!

AND SAY THANKS TO JIM ROBINSON! It is in the breaking news sidebar! |
Asner is somewhere between a slug and a cockroach.
He illustrates the Left's promotion of Communism from FDR and Harry Hopkins, to FDR's ambassador to the Soviet Union, Joseph Davies, and the New York Times' Walter Duranty who thought Stalin's show trials were legitimate, there was no famine, and the gulag was a wonderful combination of the TVA and the Hudson Bay Company.
Today CNN and Dan Rather and Charles Rangel and Barbara Boxer and Hitlery das Butch von Buchenvald sing praises to Castro killer of 100,000.
And then there's Joseph C. Wilson a mainstay of MoveOn.org linked from CPUSA.org.
Red Asner, gives Castro Lewinsky's but would not leave America to live in the Cuban Worker's Paradise.
I don't think there is a rational way to "understand" @ssholes like that monster.

HISTORY AND CULTURE: Death of the Butcher |
On the 50th anniversary of the death of Joseph Stalin, Arnold Beichman recalls the atrocities Stalin perpetratedand the allure he held for craven Western intellectuals. |
|
Fifty years ago, on March 5, 1953, Josef Vissarionovich Stalin died. One of the worlds great genocidists, comparable to Adolf Hitler not only as a mass killer but also as an anti-Semite, Stalin was preparing a large-scale pogrom, the outgrowth of what is today known as the doctors plot. How he died, when he died, and whether he was done in by his comrades, fearful of another purge, all remain a mystery to this day. With all that was known about Lenins monstrous successor, there is another mystery that is even older than the anniversary of Stalins death: How could so many otherwise intelligent people, who were not Communist Party members so far as we know, have spoken admiringly of Stalin? |
Ed's misunderstood idol made a much overquoted quote about one death being a tragedy while a million deaths are a statistic. When it comes to the world in the eyes of bleeding heart idiots like Ed, he was right.
"Shut up and sing"....or is it dance? Or just shut up.
Never mind Stalin, given his age, he may rather need to worry about how happy he is living under Satan's boot.
I'm not defending him, but I think he was pulling some chain. That does not make him less of an "idiot".
