Johnson, Thune Deny Responsibility For Abortion Fliers
People in Aberdeen found out Sunday that even church services are getting tangled in the US Senate race between Republican John Thune and Democrat Tim Johnson.
Churchgoers returning to their vehicles after services at Sacred Heart and Saint Mary's Catholic parishes found leaflets on their windshields. The papers said in part: "You can help keep abortion legal. Vote for Tim Johnson for US Senate."
Johnson's campaign blames Thune's supporters. Thune's campaign rejects that notion and points a finger at Johnson's backers. Similar leaflets were distributed at Catholic and Protestant churches in Sioux Falls last month.
