Bill Salier has the hearts of the grassroots of the Iowa GOP. 'Greg' Ganske (who since going to the House of Representatives has voted nearly half the time with the Dems instead of the Republican Caucus) has the money, the media, and the DC establishment...(why I don't know.)

My sources tell me that the lamebrains at the Senatorial Committee are even actively supporting Ganske...up to and including sending staff into the state to try to resurrect Ganske's fruitless attempt at organizing some support from real Iowa Republicans.

Bill Salier is exactly the kind of candidate to put up against the socialist warrior, Tom 'Commie Tommy' Harkin...ex-Marine, farmer, eloquent, attractive, charismatic, earnest, sincere...a cutting edge conservative with principles he won't compromise. In other words, someone who can provide a real contrast to Dungheap Harkin.

Ganske on the other hand is exactly the type of squishy opponent that Harkin has been crushing since the early 70's.

Leadership is going to have to come from the rank and file of the Party...and I fully expect that to happen in this case...I fully expect the nominee to be Bill Salier. I fully expect the Party poohbahs (read: political hacks) to have egg all over their faces here just as they did in CA.

Hadn't heard about the RNSC sending in staff. Thanks for the heads up.

In the last few weeks, Ganske has gone from ignoring Salier to a full-on attack. His internals must be terrible.
